Beef with vegetables
INGREDIENTS
1 lb of sirloin
10 chives
1 medium onion cut in 1 inch slices
2 tofu squares; diced in 2 inch pieces
7 oz of shirataki (very thin noodles made from starch of certain tubers, sold in cans of water, you can find them in plastic bags in Japan), they can be replaced with flour noodles.
3.5 oz of shungiku (Japanese mums leaves) it can be replaced by spinach, watercress or Chinese cabbage
8 oz of sliced, canned bamboo shoots
12 mushrooms cut in slices
1/2 cup of Soy Sauce
1 cup of mirin coffee, soft sake used only in the kitchen, it can be bought in Asian product stores and it is not pricey
1/2 bowl of Japanese broth "dashi"
4 tbsp. of honey rice
A pinch of glutamate
1 tbsp of oil
4 eggs
White rice (optional)
PREPARATION
Place the meat on the freezer for about 30 minutes or until it hardens to be able to cut very thin slices.
Clean the chives, leaving the entire usable stem. Slice the bulbous part and stems diagonally in 2 inch slices.
Cook the shiritaki in water for 1 minute, drain and cut in half. If we use noodles, boil them for 2 minutes and drain.
Place all the ingredients in a dish, so the artist's hands will be crucial in the arrangement and slicing.
In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, mirin, broth, and glutamate and rice honey, bring to the boil and place it in a jar to take it to the table.
Once all the ingredients are on the table, place the Sukiyaki-nabe on a hot plate. Since we will probably not have this type of container we can replace it with thick-bottom pan.
A sukiyaki-nabe is a saucepan with low brims and it is usually made from tempered iron and the nabes are usually tempered iron containers used to serve at the table (nabemono).
Once the container is on the hot dish heat it for several minutes, it will depend on how thick is the container you are using.
Grease the container with the vegetable oil.
To serve the dish, place the ingredients in the pan gradually; place a little of beef and fry it for 1 - 2 minutes without turning.
Add the chives and onion, and then pour half of the soy sauce mix on the ingredients.
Place half of the noodles, the tofu, vegetables, bamboo shoots and mushrooms and sauté with the chopsticks for 4 minutes.
The eggs are cracked in individual bowls and stirred.
Grab the snacks and coat with egg before eating.
Continue adding more ingredients to sauté them as the first time.
Serve the rice in individual bowls.
